Seline is an Associate Professor in SPHE and Wellbeing in DCU Institute of Education. Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Education from Mary Immaculate College (2006), a Master of Education in Aggression Studies (2009) and a PhD (2012) from Trinity College Dublin. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Research Fellow in DCU loE Anti-Bullying Centre.

She is the Principal Investigator (Pl) of Spark: Igniting teacher and parent confidence and capacity levels in delivering quality Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) to children. She is also the Pl on a SCoTENs funded project titled Nuts+Bolts: An Anti-Bullying Policy Reflective Framework with Stranmillis University College, Belfast. Previous EU PI projects include Gender Equality Matters (GEM) which aimed to tackle gender stereotyping, gender-based bullying and gender-based violence through empowering whole school communities to challenge attitudes and behaviours that undermine gender equality. GEM won a National Education Award in 2021 for Best International Collaboration Project. In February 2022, Seline was invited to present at the European Commission’s discussion on Gender Equality In and Through Education.

Seline was the lead author on the Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE) research paper commissioned by the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA) RSE review and was a member of the NCCA SPHE and RSE Development Group. She was awarded funding by the Irish Research Council (IRC) to engage in a collaboration and knowledge exchange with the Frixos sexuality programme developers to explore its relevance to the Irish RSE school context. Most recently, Seline is a member of the NCCA’s Wellbeing Curriculum Development Group.
